Last weekend I've added another hdd to my hda. And it is working like it should. But the process of doing that seems complicated. My guess is that it is instructions like http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... o_your_HDA that keeps Linux operating systems in the shadow of Windows.
I noticed that there is a disk utility build in Fedora 14. My guess is that some of the wiki parts can be done there and that only adding the disk to the Greyhole pool has to ben done manually. Am I right?
Why is adding another hdd so complicated
Re: Why is adding another hdd so complicated
Well, not sure. Maybe someone will test it and post their results. I am thinking that the utility might not add the drive to the /etc/fstab and/or mount it at the desired location. I might be mistaken as I have never tried the utility myself.
It is more complicated that we would like it to be. We are working on a better process, but Linux is not making it easy.

I know you guys are working hard. And it shows. Amahi is great to work with. But I am the family nerd that repairs and installs the computers. And for that reason I would not recommend it to them, because it requires me to help them every time (-:
Re: Why is adding another hdd so complicated
Understand. Unfortunately we have not quite made it to the state that anyone can do it with little guidance. One day we will get there.
