This is my third physical Amahi server, and so far I am not having any luck getting it to work properly. I started with the express CDs and neither the 32 nor the 64 bit would finish properly. They would install, then enter into an indefinite loop of "Reboot to finish".
Now I installed a full copy of Fedora 14, then tried to continue the HDA setup. After Fedora finished installing, I double clicked on the Amahi installer and it asked for my code.
I entered it, and it progressed properly through all the extra installation (Or at least I did not see any errors and the progress bar advanced). Then it told me I needed to reboot. I did and I thought all must be well.
Except I cannot connect to my hda from my client machines. I tried to connect as I have in the past with just "HDA" and it will not work. I tried typing in the IP address in a browser and it will not connect. I can ping the address. I can SSH into the box, login with my root access. One thing that is odd is the host name is not hda.local
That was the hostname of my last hda on this network. Instead it is hda.heritage.com which is the host name I picked during the Fedora install. I thought the Amahi part would wipe that out. So ... what can I try next? I have a working Fedora 14 install, but the HDA part does not seem to be visible on the network. I'm not sure how to check the parts or what to do. Thanks.

Are you able to access http://hda from the amahi server itself? (Im guessing you can)
Have you rebooted the other PC's since your new install of amahi?
If they are windows, you may have to re-register the DNS and or flush the dns settings. (They could be cached)
ipconfig /flushdns then run ipconfig /registerdns

Re: Installed with Fedora 14 DVD, but HDA part did not work
I think that did it. After using the DNS commands you gave on the windows clients they are able to see the hda. Odd that originally I could not even use it's IP. That would not be a DNS issue.
I did restart the HDA several times too, but not sure if that accomplished anything. At any rate it is up. Took much longer than the last one I built in July since it would not work with the express install CD.
Thanks for the help.
