Email Server for Internal Network

Postby roly25 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 12:37 pm

Is there an email server or a way to setup an email server for use on my internal Network only that can be used with Amahi Server. I'm not interested in getting my external mail brought into my Home Network with fetchmail, I just want a way to have custom email addresses for use internally to be processed with my Amahi box like I could do if I wanted to go to the expense of setting up a Windows Server box with Exchange Server?

Hello,

As a matter of fact we do have an app in testing that will do just that. It also can be used as a full fledged mail server.

I would be glad to give you access to the app if you do not want to perform the manual install. I have been looking for testers and feedback for quite some time.

I'd gladly test the app out for you, as it would save me having to ditch my newly setup Amahi Server for a Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange based server, as I like all the features of Amahi and how easy it is to setup and configure.

Bigfoot65,
Are you still looking for testers for the mail app?

I currently have a separate server running Citadel to pull all of my email in via POP and then serve it to my computers through a number of folders (to distinguish different accounts) via IMAP. If the Amahi mail app is capable of this and you need someone who is too lazy to setup fetchmail & dovecot (and etc) manually, I'd be happy to help with testing.

Sure, anyone interested can PM me their amahi.org user name. We have moved this to beta now, so those with access to beta apps will be able to test as well.

Ahh, I see this is a Fedora 14 only app. I'm still running Fedora 12, so unfortunately I will not be much use to you at the moment, bugger.......

Sorry, that is correct. We do not officially support Fedora 12 any longer, so there will be no new apps added for that platform.
