Cannot upgrade, can I migrate system

Postby gambinosa » Thu May 26, 2011 10:47 pm

I tried updating fedora 12 to 14 via internet but after preupgrade download and restart anaconda starts and then it just fails and cannot continue, same thing happens when I try upgrading with DVD.

Since upgrade isn't possible, can I do fresh install without loosing greyhole configuration.

Current configuration:
Fedora 12 with Amahi 5 on 500 GB disk
Two 1TB disk in grayhole pool filled with data.

Can I format 500 GB disk, and install fresh copy of Fedora 14, then install Amahi 6 and somehow connect two other disks and configure it in new grayhole pool and preserve the data without need to backup all this data?

I believe so. What I did was did the gone option before I shut down my f12 box. Then once I had the f14 box up and running amahi, I installed the drives and added reconnected them to greyhole. Check the wiki for additional guidance.

Sorry, what is gone command?

According to http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Greyhole I just disconnect data (greyhole) drives (should I somehow "tell" greyhole that drives are gona be disconnected?), install F14, setup Amahi, reconnect drives and add it to pool and everything should work?
