One day I might have to add another drive. I'll be screwed then! ;)
This is the reason I have not moved all my data on Amahi yet, it isn't user friendly when I get home from working all day the last thing I want to do is spend 30minutes hacking away at file and running manual commands to get my disks added into the pool.
and another 30minutes fixes applications that have failed or been recently updated that no longer work and require yet again more command line stuff.

As great as everything is and yes I can see its constantly being worked on and improved it isn't a suitable replacement for windows home server.

Hi bigfoot65,

I'm well aware that it's a small team of volunteers who are working on it, and I do appreciate everything that you guys have done so far, initial setup itself is pretty smooth, but something needs to be done on the Greyhole side to make it more user friendly.

I will start by donating some money towards the project but I won't be using as it is at present until the greyhole integration is more user friendly.

Generious, if you like you can come into the amahi IRC channel and I would be happy to help you configure the extra drives. I realize it IS a rather hefty manual process for people not familiar with the console, but it's really not hard with a little practice and/or experience. I've assisted about 10 different people in mounting their drives and getting them setup.

I have recently installed Amahi and added disks. I am certainly a LINUX (very) Novice and following the Wiki posed no problems for me. The Wikis are exceptioonally clear, accurate and if you follow them they work!!

Whilst I fully appreciate that a GUI process or plug and play would be preferable I would like to say that the process is managable, even from a position of absolutley no LINUX knowledge.

The process has not disenchanted me with this brilliant product. When you combine the ease of installation and the fact that Amahi is FREE :D there is no comparison. I tried FREENAS and ubuntu Server and was not prepared to pay for WHS and I am more than happy with where I have ended up. It is a great product and I would definitely advise my friends to think very seriously about installing this in place of any other HS solution. It is easy if you are prepared to read the instructions and follow them. BUT you have to be prepared to make some effort especially when you are not paying?!?

Thank you to the amahi Team and please keep it up, there are novices out there who think this is a great product and what especially makes me happy is the speed of responce once you post a problem.
