Great to hear you were able to get things working. Interesting that virus scanning is causing issues. Given all the users who have had issues with install, it is likely this could be the culprit.

We will have to add something to the instructions to indicate all virus scanning should be temporarily disabled until install is complete. Awesome job in noting this potential fix!

Yeah, it appears to happen with any more "advanced" firewall that's got some sort of virus scanning utility at the gateway. Interesting, but I supposed it makes sense.

Well, here's an interesting one.

Solution? Turn off virus scanning at the firewall. I run an Untangle firewall on my home network, one of which features is a virus scanning utility. I had issues with it preventing YouTube from working on iPod touch devices. Once I disabled that, Youtube (built-in app on iPT) worked.
No freckin way!!! Should have thought about that. I'm in the same boat, using an Untangle server!

After reading that, i stole my daughters ipod and tried youtube and "server error" ran the install and added the repo and installed with no issues!!!

NICE.

Can you specify why you are trying to install in this manner? Its best to install the Amahi repo during the Fedora 14 install. That ensures best success.

Are you using Fedora 14 DVD or Express CD? Also have you verified the media is not corrupt. All of these things have caused similar issues in the past.

There is a MD5 checksum that is associated with the image. Also, the link below from the Amahi wiki will give you a direct download for the files via http.
