Clean install, Fedora 14 and Amahi 6, & a n00b...
After every boot I can access the hda over my lan, shares, dashboard etc, but the hda machine itself can not get to the internet (testing via Firefox) unless I go into:
System>Administration>Network, select the active (and only one) eth0, click 'Deactivate', then click 'Activate'
After this the box can get to the internet.
My problem is I want this to be an off-site backup machine and I won't be able to reactivate the network connection over vnc or ssh;) I need the box to have internet access for maintenance and am stumped as to what is setup wrong.
Happy to attach logs, try terminal commands, any and all suggestions appreciated!
Network needs to be deactivated:activated after every boot?

You should not be losing connectivity. Recommend you check out the network troubleshooter in the wiki.

You can also look at the hda-install.log in the root dir too for clues.
