Postby aliboy » Thu Apr 07, 2011 5:09 am

hello

I'm going to download the image file. ( http://download.amahi.org/ )

I read this link and was fantastic. ( http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/152264 )

But I do not know that this ISO is a replacement for the Fedora operating system or a ISO help ?

Hello,

You download and install Fedora 14 via DVD. Amahi is an add on to the operating system. See this link for more info on the install procedure.

Hello,

There are no specific packages to back up. When Amahi is installed, its installed like any other Fedora package. It installs what is not present in the OS and that can vary. You can backup your VM of course.

The web page you see for localhost:2000 is left over from the installer. It can be disregarded and will not show up again once closed. We know of this issue and will correct it in future versions.

I search the forum, and I reached the following command.

Code: Select all

amahi-installer restart
Now works correctly.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood. I thought you already had installed Amahi. The installer should not be running after install.

Once you have Amahi installed, do not restart the installer. It is meant to only be running for the initial install, then will stay in a dead state.

Hi

Finally I could complete the installation process.

But:

Only two times I could get to the login page. (this page: http://hda )

1 - in this page: ( http://hda ) When the username (aliboy) and password enter ,Was invalid.

Which user name and password must be entered , until I login?

Fedora username and password (microfedora) or user name (aliboy) in Amahi.org

2 - After dhclient command (to Internet access) , I do not face with http://hda and go to another page.( go to this page http://www.hda.com)

There is no possibility of entering

thanks !

OK, there are a few things going on here.

First, it appears you are running in VirtualBox and not a live machine. So you need to follow the wiki guidance for altering the network configuration. Amahi is designed to be run on a live box, however does work on VMs with a little modification.

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_o ... ork_config

Secondly, you need to have turned off your router DHCP and DNS servers. Amahi will serve as those functions, this why you get the website versus HDA dashboard. IF you enter http://IP Address you should get the dashboard.

Finally, the user name and password you use for Amahi is the one you created on install in Fedora, not the amahi.org one.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

hello bigfoot65

It was interesting

Question:

I have two adapters in the virtual machine.
To enter the login page I just changed ip-gateway.and I got into the dashboard.

According to the following:

Image

and

Image

In any case I can only have access to HDA.(1 - http://192.168.1.11 or 2- http://hda )
but Can not simultaneously have access to the Internet.

How can simultaneously access the web and hda ?

is there a special command.?

thanks...

Did you follow the wiki link I provided in the previous post? The eth1 should not have more than the lines as noted in the wiki. If you follow that, you will have the appropriate access to internet and the hda.

Keep in mind, Amahi was designed for a live box and not a VM. There may be further configuration required to make it all work as you desire. Due to our team of volunteers being quite small, our primary support is live box installs, not VMs.
