I got this far in the test I think it has something to do with not turning off DHCP I am using Verizon actiontech and am not sure how to turn it off. It also controls my phone and tv so I want to make sure it wont cause a problem there

Could be. It is it possible to point your clients to the HDA for DNS server. If you do so, that will most likely eliminate further problems. I don't see why you can leave the DHCP on with your service. If its possible to turn it off, I would recommend it. Amahi works best when it controls both.
I am sure you can find a happy medium with a little experimenting. Recommend you search the forums or check the wiki to see if anyone else has the same service. If so, there might be some pointers that will help.
