Deleting files from shares

Postby marcar » Sat Feb 05, 2011 6:30 pm

Hi All,

I've been using Amahi for a couple of months now and i'm loving it, I've managed to work out how to install headless and navigate my way around the terminal which has been good fun

I have samba shares set up that I access directly from my mac for backing up & storing files, I've been doing quite a bit of experimenting and in the process deleting quite a number of files.

My question is if I am deleting files via samba do they get moved to trash folder on the Amahi server? they definitely don't seem to be moved to the trash on my mac.

I'm just worried that they may be taking up unnecessary space on my hard drives.

I'm not using grey pool if that makes any difference.

Cheers,
Mick

There is no recycle bin on the HDA unless you implement one in Samba. It is a manual process as noted in the wiki (http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Recycle_bins).
