New Squeezeboxserver version - again..

Postby NeverSimple » Sat Jan 29, 2011 7:54 am

Hello,

Rod, or 'Bigfoot65' , If you have some time off from the 'Amahi-Fedora-14-sweatshop' , there is a new Logitech Squeezeboxserver (7.5.3) that adds 'Spotify'. Would really like to use that version on Amahi. Could you package it (again)?? Would be great!

BTW: when starting the server, I get a warning about 3 deprecated options. Don't know if that is something that can be changed by packaging the server for Amahi, but thought I'd mention it.

Mhhh, confused .... :?

You saw the question about packaging the new version? Hoping you'll find some time for it.
The deprecated issue is about the current version.

Should be updated. Not sure what's up with the deprecated features, but hopefully the new version will not have that problem. We have no control over that obviously.

Should be updated.
It is :D . uninstall > re-install did go smooth, no problems. I'm listening to it now. Just checked, but the 3 warnings about the deprecated options are still there.

In that case we'll have to wait for the upstream packager to solve it, I guess. For now it doesn't cause any problem, but eventually it will.

Thanks again for the quick update,

Richard

What are the deprecated functions? Might be something we can tweak manually.

What are the deprecated functions?
Here they are:

Code: Select all

[root@hda ~]# 110201 19:15:52 [Warning] '--skip-locking' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Please use '--skip-external-locking' instead. 110201 19:15:52 [Warning] '--default-character-set' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Please use '--character-set-server' instead. 110201 19:15:52 [Warning] '--default-collation' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Please use '--collation-server' instead.

Thanks....went looking through the files and cannot locate them in a text file. I believe they are in binary files. Read a forum post on their web site that says there are just warning messages and functionality is not affected.

The author will have to correct them, then we can pick up the new version.
