Request help installing Virtualbox according to wiki

When I run

uname -r

It says 2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686.PAE

running

yum install -y kernel-PAE-devel

says
Package kernel-PAE-devel-2.6.32.26-175.i686 already installed and latest version. Nothing to do.

so an evening of hunting led me to this site http://blog.eduardovalle.com/2010/10/01 ... surprises/ which seemed to imply I needed to be specific about the kernel version.

so I ran

yum install -y kernel-PAE-devel-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686

which ran ok

I then ran

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

successfully and VirtualBox seems to be working fine now (at least it starts up ok)

Yes version is important. I was presuming you had an updated system which would pull the latest dev kernel and match. I will add the version info to the wiki for future users.
