OpenVpn ALS

Postby mtotton » Mon Nov 22, 2010 12:11 pm

I am getting really frustrated with this. I use the wonderful "one-click" install for OpenVPN ALS and when it has installed I click on the link and get; Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at adito:4443. Now what? I have forwarded TCP ports 443 and 4443 to the amahi server that's it - no more help from anywhere, it just says log in as administrator - great - HOW?

If you are not getting a login screen, then the app did not install correctly. You might want to uninstall and then reinstall.

Next, why are you forwarding ports 443 and 4443? There is no need to do so unless you want to access it outside your network. In that case, you need to forward port 4443 to 443 for your HDA IP.

The login credentials are clearly listed in the special instructions box after you installed the application. There is also additional information in the wiki at http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adito.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

Glad to hear it is working now. There are sometimes connectivity issues with the apps. We have not been able to narrow it down yet, but it does happen occasionally especially with the bigger apps like this one.

What I recommend is if it does not work first time, uninstall and reboot the HDA. Then try installing again. That has done the trick most of the time for me. Unfortunately until we can duplicate the problem we cannot solve it.

If you could post the part of your app install log that reflects the install for this app, that would be greatly appreciated. It is located in /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log file. We would like to see only the parts that have errors if there are any.
