Fresh install F12 transmission folder permission

Postby salocinbake » Sat Dec 12, 2009 8:50 am

Sorry to bring this up again.

Really like the web interface of transmission. I did a fresh install of F12, a few glitch when Amahi installed, but I got it going.

Installed transmission, created the torrents share folder.

Then when starting a torrent, you get-> Error:permission denied

I know the torrents folder has the wrong permission. I discussed it in a previous posthttp://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=472

The method used make the torrent download fine, but later when moving/deleting the created files I get permission denied. (apache?)

Just trying to make Amahi experience pleasant. I would like to help fixed this problem.

So I simply install Transmission, and created a torrents folder. Now I get :

Now need info how to change folder permission.

Thanks,

NIck.

Hi

I made this work by running WinSCP from a client machine, logging in as root, then changing the properties of the torrents folder to Read/Write/Execute for everyone.

WinSCP is, in my humble opinion, the essential utility for getting Amahi to work properly, as the latest version seems to have quite a few niggling little bugs around samba, cups and others that need permissions to be just right.
