I need a system that allows me to add files to my servers shares by using Windows explorer (or FTP)... and create public "shared links" of them in some kind of a "file browser" from a web interface so that I can share them with family, friends and customers all around the world. I DON'T WANT to be stuck to this "log on to this OpenVPN thing". It simply don't suits my needs! I NEED to create "shared links" that I can share with people, simply by e-mailing them or send in a PM on facebook or whatever, so that they can access them with just one single click! I've tried that now by installing "ownCloud 8" and "Pydio", but none of them get access to all the shares that I've created (and/or files that I've added with windows explorer) and none of them can create "public shared links" with access from the outside world. They are only available from my LAN and both of them has upload limits! Out of the box, none of them allows upload of files larger than 2GB. That simply does not suit my needs. Can AMAHI do what I need?
I've been using cloud services like OneDrive, Dropbox and Mega, but I need quicker access and I find it to time consuming to upload my files to a remote server online. I want "everything" to be available from a server here at home. I've tried the "Seagate Persona Cloud" system which really works quite perfect for me. The only problem with it is that the hardware in it seems to weak, resaulting in apps get locked, the unit is overheating, gets stuck, and needs to be rebooted "all the time". That's why I want to set up my own server solution instead... but I want it to work as similar to the "Seagate Personal Cloud" system as possible. Can I do that with AMAHI? Is Amahi what I really need? Please help?
...and sorry for bad english
