Just did a network install using Fedora 10 PPC version, created and logged in to user, so far so good. Opened terminal, logged in as root, attempted to "hda-install XYZPDQ", getting "bash: hda-install: command not found"
What am I missing?
hda-install: command not found
Re: hda-install: command not found
Net installs are not supported. Is there any way you can do a dvd install?

Re: hda-install: command not found
Unfortunately, no, since the mac mini I have doesn't have a dvd reader. I can, however, do the 7 disc install I guess...
Re: hda-install: command not found
You can try that, will take longer though, do you have an external DVD drive?
If not try the CDs and still follow the same directions, let me know if that works.

Re: hda-install: command not found
Well, I attempted to install Fedora 10 using the 7 cd's for PPC... I only had to use 1-3, and 5. Install asked me for a root password, but didn't ask me to create a user. Appears everything installed correctly, although now I cannot log in because root is disabled as a user able to log in, and there's no user to log in with. Any suggestions before I take a hammer to this?
Re: hda-install: command not found
hdactl is only available in i386 and x86-64. no access to ppc hardware
it's kind of silly, because there is only one very small (but crucial) program there that is compiled. the rest are scripts.
if you want to help out with the ppc version, it would be awesome ... otherwise, you're going to hack your way into it, compiling the sources, etc.

Re: hda-install: command not found
I'd be more than happy to help out, though I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to Fedora (and linux in general... I know just enough to break everything), but if you want to point me in the right direction, I'm all for it.
Re: hda-install: command not found
hmm
get yourself the SRPM for hdactl and build it for ppc.
