Missing files

Postby davymac » Sat Jul 05, 2014 5:27 am

I noticed a number of my files had gone missing while updating my plex server and ran greyhole -s and could see that I appear to have a large number of files in trash. Is there any way to restore them from the trash or a way to check which files are in the trash? It's predominantly my media which only had 1 copy on the server but I have a back up of the files from a month or so back so wouldn't be a massive issue putting them back on.

I'm also concerned why they are in the trash in the first place as it appears to be random files that disappeared. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have mount shares locally enabled? That is required for manipulating files on the HDA directly without using Samba.

Also, if you follow the guidance here you can create a Trash share and then easily see what's in there. You can also copy things back if needed.

One other thing to check is ensure all files in /var/hda/files are owned by your 1st admin user:users.
