Default netmask

Postby SafeZone » Wed Apr 23, 2014 6:26 am

Hi all,

I am about to install amahi for my first time and have some network setting issue. When creating my profile I was asked to provide HDAs static Ip but there was no question about netmask. Default mask of 255.255.255.0 was assigned.

My LAN is all configured for 255.255.255.224. Is there any way I can change my profile configuration to match my LAN subnetmask? I would assume my installation will fail as network configuration does not match.

I am unsure if install would fail. Seems like this was done before without issue. Why not try and see what happens. Since the initial install will get the DHCP lease from your router, it would be correct.

The static IP is set by Amahi after install, but not sure if the netmask would be changed.

I was not aware that Amahi will request IP over DHCP during installation and will use static IP only after this is done. If that is the case, everything should be fine.

Any way I will give it a go once my PSU will come. Hopefully it will work. I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Thanks for your reply :D
