SOLVED: Sick of seeing the Dashboard

Postby Britaniola » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:05 pm

Hello. I've been trying to get my express install working since Saturday. I have done 4 separate installs and none of them seem to be working. Every time I install an app and try to go to it's main page, I get bought back to the Amahi dashboard. Amahi is doing DHCP on my network. I read a thread about uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them as a fix, but that doesn't work.

Here is a paste from the Interactive Network Troubleshooter: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/6669651

Anyone have any insight into this problem?

Thanks,

Bill

We will be glad to assist. The link you provided is not the typical output we see from the Amahi network troubleshooter. It provided nothing other than showing your web server is running.

Please check your clients to ensure they are obtaining DHCP and DNS from the HDA. Also recommend you check the /var/log directory to see if you can find any errors in the log files.

I presume you followed the instructions at http://docs.amahi.org when installing the Express CD. If not, that is a necessity to ensure proper install. Also the machine should reboot twice before it's ready. If that did not happen, you may need to try again.

Thanks for helping me with this.

I had a look in the log files and I found a few errors:

/var/log/messages

Code: Select all

Dec 31 01:05:53 localhost httpd[2604]: httpd: Syntax error on line 56 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 6 of /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/10-php.conf: Cannot load modules/libphp5.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp5.so: symbol SSLeay_version, version OPENSSL_1.0.1 not defined in file libcrypto.so.10 with link time reference
(There were quite a few of these)

Code: Select all

Dec 31 00:41:03 localhost nmbd[527]: write_browse_list: Fatal error - cannot find my workgroup WORKGROUP
(There were quite a few of these)

/var/log/httpd/error.log

Code: Select all

AH00558: httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using localhost.localdomain. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message
Hope this helps

Bill

Yes it helps. Try doing this as root user:

Code: Select all

yum update openssl systemctl restart httpd.service
There is a bug for this one.
https://bugs.amahi.org/issues/1231

The last error listed is more a warning, so should not cause problems.

:D

That seems to have fixed it! Thanks! I was about to give up and go back to some flavour of Windows (shutter).

Happy New Year BigFoot65, et. al.!
