When I try to connect the HDA printer the printer wizard appears asking me to
install the driver even though the driver is already installed. The printer is an
HP PSC 2110xi. The wizard is looking for an inf file. This occurs on XP Home and
Pro. Any suggestions?

Re: Printer Problem
This printer is connected to your HDA correct?

Re: Printer Problem
The printer is connected to the HDA and prints from the server.
It also prints from the XP machine using a USB connection. I can
see the printer when I login to the HDA but I can not connect to it.

Re: Printer Problem
So the printer is connected to the HDA and XP PC from USB?
If your trying to print over the network you would not need to connect it to both, just install it on the hda, go to add printer, add a network printer and scan for it.
That should work (not tested but should)

Re: Printer Problem
When I scan for a network printer XP can find it, but when I try to
connect to the printer the add printer wizard appears asking me to
install the driver when it is already installed. I only connected the printer
via USB to verify the driver installation and printer itself. I would rather
connect to the printer with the HDA only.

Re: Printer Problem
Hello,
Have to followed the guidance in the wiki (http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... ed_printer)? This is how I set mine up. I only connected the printer to the HDA machine. When I added the printer to my Windows machines, I used the driver disk for my printer. It only installed the minimal drivers needed to print.
Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Someone will have the answer.

Re: Printer Problem
When I continue with the Add Printer Wizard it is only looking for a file with the inf
extension. There are inf files on the CD, but I can not find one to satisfy the printer wizard. Do I have to try every inf file on the CD?

Re: Printer Problem
It depends. But you could also select your printer from the driver list on XP (if it shows up in their list)
That might be your best bet. If no driver try to go through the list and see.
