Live Downsizing/Dowscaling while streaming

Postby TMDolphin » Sun Jul 21, 2013 7:06 am

Hi there,
i use amahi-dlna for quite a while now. At home i'm very happy with it. Is there a chance, when having a slow connection, to somehow to live downscale e.g. 1080p Videos to e.g. 720p ? With live i mean, ideally i don't want to have a converting process before.. .. :D
I googled a bit, but only found cloud-services and so on :(

best regards
TMD

What you're describing it referred to as "trans-coding".
This is done on-the-fly by the media servers that support it.
If I'm not mistaken....

These Transcode..
- Mediatomb
- Plex Media Server

These don't transcode..
- uShare
- MiniDLNA / DLNA (Amahi DLNA)
