Crash Plan :S

Postby TMDolphin » Wed May 01, 2013 1:36 pm

Hi there,
suddenly my hardware went down :(
Seems that the Disks are still working, so i want to buy new board/cpu. Don't think that this will still work, but will try. Anyway My Question is, how to go on when i have to reinstall everything?

E.g. how to mount the shares on the old disks in the new System? (have greyhole on all of them)
The other question is, which OS? I had Fedora 14 before and i want to have a newer one. Fedora or Ubuntu doesn't matter, but i want to upgrade to Amahi 7 when it is released. Or is the latest build already usable (incl. guides for things different to amahi 6.. )?

Some Advice would be great :D
Thanks a lto
best regards
TMD, btw: I love Amahi :)

This might help.

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/How_To ... _Ubuntu_12

Basically you mount the drives the same way as they are now. As for OS choice, you can go with Ubuntu or wait for Amahi 7. It may be a few weeks yet before it's stable on Fedora 18.

You also might find additional guidance in the wiki for rebuilding your HDA.

Thanks for your anwser. I think, i willl try to use Ubuntu, because it is ready to run. In general i would love to use Amahi 7, but so far no Plans for Ubuntu right`?
Is Amahi 6 working with Fedora 18 as well so i could simply update as soon as 7 is released?

The plan is for Ubuntu to be updated to Amahi 7, but not sure when. Fedora 18 is not ready and some features do not work. It's still an ALPHA build, so only for play.

Your best bet is to go with Ubuntu.
