Unable to type password

Postby DarkerHomes » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:06 pm

Hi guys,

I am new to Ubuntu and to Amahi, so I apologise if this seems ridiculously stupid (which it likely is)

During the install of Amahi I am asked to enter my install code in the terminal, which works fine. But then when asked to enter my password, I am no longer able to type into the terminal (or if it is typing, nothing is appearing on screen). I have tried entering my password several times now, but I keep receiving the message "Sorry, try again." After I enter my password three times, I then have to start the installer again. Does anyone know what is causing this issue or am I being a dumbass?

Cheers in advance!

Not sure what the issue might be, but you can also try running the install script as follows:

Code: Select all

sudo install-amahi
Then enter your user password and it will not ask again. If you are unable to enter a password, there may be something else going on with your hardware.

Found out I was meant to enter my Ubuntu user password, not my Amahi password. Derp. Thanks for your reply!
