Hi all, things are slowly coming along, still... help would be appreciated!
I am using my router's DHCP and DNS servers for the network.
I am using Google,s DNS in my personal laptop (the rest of the network is using the router's).
DHCP is turned off on the HDA as I cannot switch off the router's DHCP for ISP requirements.
DNS is on on the HDA, if I turn it off the HDA has no internet access despite the router's DNS...
Now why can't I access the apps INSIDE the network? things like http://ajaxplorer.home.com resolve outside the network and lead to the home.com domain?
If I use 192.168.1.10\ajaxplorer.home.com I end up with the setup page as every other try ...
using the network problem solver I end up with this recommendation:
"If you can't stop using another DHCP server, you'll need to set the domain name of your client computer to home.com"
In windows 7 I cannot simply join the home.com domain...
what does this means in plain english?
Thanks

You cannot use the DNS server on the router and HDA together. They will clash and could be why you are having issues. Best results are achieved when the HDA does DHCP and DNS, but understand you have an issue with doing so.
What if you restricted the DHCP range on your router to 1 IP address, the HDA? Then allowed the HDA to be the DHCP server for all the rest. Just a thought, but it might work and minimize the issues you are having now.
Not sure about the Domain issue. Is the client part of the same Work Group as the HDA? That might help. Look on the HDA under Shares. Advanced Settings under Settings tab has to be checked to for this to work.
