Network Change

Postby sidelight » Wed Sep 07, 2011 3:44 am

Hi all,

OK keep this short and sweet as I think plenty of other threads have answered this (but I'm hoping something has changed).

I currently use a 10.10.x.x network range for my home network. Before anyone shouts too loud about 192.168.x.x etc I know, however there is a reason as this matches the address range used corporate for its test lan and this allows me to move virtual machines with the minimum of fuss when I work from home.

However, I am changing ISP at home and it appears the new ISP reserves this network for its own use (internet telephony) so I cannot continue to use my current address range. I cannot confirm this as the switch happens next week but I have read on their forums this is the case.

So.....
  1. Can I change network settings on my hda easily?

If not, and I have to create a new hda. Resync data etc
  2. Will that mean paying again for those apps I purchased for my HDA?
Any help so I can get things sorted ahead of the change would be appreciated.

You don't need to pay for you apps again. Amahi keeps track of that.

Check around the forum, there should be a way to change the IP address.

Thanks radioz,

I will check around, if it was a gateway change I'd be happy. I'm expecting all sorts of digging between db's and the usual linux scripts so will see what I can turn up.

Does anyone know if I do this will my amahi server page be updated to reflect the new network settings?
