Newbie question

Postby mash » Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:09 am

Hello, i want to try amahi out for my new NAS that im currently building. My question is this, i currently have 2 disks, one 750GB and one 2TB, my motherboard only has 2 SATA connections so this is what im limited to right now. Anyway, can i install amahi on the 750GB harddrive and use the remaining space on that drive (the space not taken by the system) combined with the 2TB drive in a greyhole storage pool or is the 750GB drive limited to only the system and maby a standalone storage place?

Thanks in advance

You can use that space for whatever you desire. Recommend you make a separate partition for that extra space. I made my OS drive 50GB, then the rest is partitioned and mounted as /var/hda/files which is where all shares are located.

I was using that as part of the storage pool at one time, but now I have 3 additional drives so I removed it from the pool.

Hope this helps.
