Repository and repomd.xml error

Postby parsa » Thu Jul 14, 2011 4:33 am

Hi,
I installed the fedora 14 live cd on my home server. It did not ask me to add a repo in the installer, and I have not updated. I added the amahi repo manually after installation and I am following the self-install-existing wiki, however everytime I try the:

Code: Select all

yum install hda-suite
I get:
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
amahi | 1.9 kB 00:00
amahi/primary | 52 kB 00:00
amahi 172/172
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
I have searched the forums but the solutions seem to be "keep trying" (because the mirror can be down?) or reinstall. I have tried about half an hour now. If not I have to give up

Any help? thanks!

Hello,

Sorry, we do not support Live CD install nor does it work in most cases. There are many packages left out on the Live CD. Recommend you do the full DVD or the Express CD install.

See the wiki for more info.
