All of a sudden whenever I restart my amahi machine it hangs on the the blue Fedora screen (it says restarting on top but nothing happens).
I'm running Amahi 6 on Fedora 14 64bit. How can I start trouble shooting this?
Amahi hangs on restart
Re: Amahi hangs on restart
Press ESC (escape) and you will see what is going on. If it was not shut down properly or something, it may be checking the files systems (which can take a little while if your disks are big).

That was it! Just had to wait an hour for the filesystem checking... Thanks!Press ESC (escape) and you will see what is going on. If it was not shut down properly or something, it may be checking the files systems (which can take a little while if your disks are big).
Re: Amahi hangs on restart
I keep having a problem with frozen restarts. If I restart, my Amahi machine hangs on shut down. I have ~8TB of disk (on 6 HD). Thinking it needed to check the filesystem I left it running for 13 hours. When I came back it was still at the same frozen state (blue screen with writing on top left corner indicating Fedora is shutting down). I can start my machine fine if a hard reboot. Pressing ESC has no effect.
So, my question is, is there a way to check for a log of what has happened on the previous restart? Or a log that shows a quue of operations to be performed at next reboot, so that I can see if a checkdisk is planned. Any other help or suggestion is appreaciated!

Re: Amahi hangs on restart
I had this issue when I moved from Amahi 5 to 6, 15 hours of a Fedora screen. Are the drives ok? Run the manufacturer disk tools to check them, it only takes one to upset it. I didn't realize that this pause meant it was checking disks, so I get rebooting manually. I found if I pulled one of the drives out (a known suspect Seagate drive), then it booted ok. Since the fix, I've not rebooted Amahi so I don't know if it'll scan it again!
