I had a working laserjet 4000 attached to my Amahi. I noticed the other day it isn't printing. I log into cups and see the queue is huge but the printer is set to pause or idle because of some error. I did have this printer working before soooo Delete printer and disconnect it. Reboot server...reconnect the printer ...reboot server. Now I can't see anything on lpt1 so I can't connect to the printer....
Arghhh,
Any help would be great.
I on fedora 12 and 64 bit Athlon cpu.
Parallel Port printer was working then connection died...
Re: Parallel Port printer was working then connection died..
This could be due to a Fedora update or lack there of. Might consider shutting down the printer and hda, then restarting both with the printer being first.
This is most likely a Fedora issue, so recommend you check their site. Is it possible the port went bad? I have heard of hardware failures similar to this.
