From within the HDA (i.e. from within Fedora) how do I navigate to my own share?
I transferred some files over the network from Win7 to my share. I could see/read the files just fine from within Win. Then I went into my HDA machine, logged in, navigated to /home/username/Music where the files are supposed to be and I do not see them.
The reason is I am trying to dump 1TB of data from a NTSF HD to my share and wanted to avoid using the network for that.

The files are stored in /var/hda/files/<Share>. You should probably mount the share locally (http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Mount_Shares_Locally) to avoid problems.

What happens if I saved stuff in /var/hda/files/<Share> instead of mounting a share? I have not setup duplication yet. Will that affect things? The files are stored in /var/hda/files/<Share>. You should be alright if you haven't set up Greyhole yet. From my understanding it watches the samba logs for activity, so if you didn't mount it locally, it won't pick up the changes until the next fsck. You can schedule a fsck:
Besides that, you should be ok.
Code: Select all
greyhole -f

This is weird:
I went and deleted the share "Movies" and created a new share called "Video" using the contorl panel.
I then checked /var/hda/files/ and it correctly shows "Video"
I then looked at the locally mounted share (as descibed in the wiki). It shows "Movies" and no "Video"
What gives?
