hdaconnect

I have had amahi up and running now for a few weeks (so much better than whs). every thing inside the router works perfectly, however when i installed hdaconnect on a remote vista machine it says it is connected (green), I can reach the hda control pannel and the dashboard (by typing in the local ip from remote) BUT THE SHARES DO NOT SHOW UP IN 'MY NETWORK PLACES' . installed as and ran as admin. I have forwarded the udp 1194 port on the local router. not sure what step I have missed. If it makes a difference i have logmein hamachi installed on the remote machine that links all the other cpu's together except the hda. Am I safe to assume the the shares should show up in network places? or do i have to go to a web site on the browser to access my remote shares. I am still a linux novice so please be specific in any help you give.
