Yep I have gathered that Amahi requires less. However, the price is good, and it is a 'real' server box. I don't know about the speed and stuff but yet you stated - 'might be overkill'. I guess that says it's okay.Should be fine. Depending on your usage, maybe overkill.
Amahi can run on a machine on much less hardware. See the minimum hardware requirements for more info.
I am running my HDA on a VM, with 3 x 1TB drives. Works fine for me.
I am always apprehensive about buying someone else's equipment
I would want to eventually set up a VPN. I would eventually consider hosting my own healthcare consulting website (but probably not). Would be nice to host my own email. I really don't have a problem with the DHCP concept it's just that I would need to still be able to do WiFi at home someway so that I can access the internet via my phones. I would need to have a printer on the network. Need to share basic data files. Probably will use CIFS. Will figure out the accounting issue; probably the cloud. Probably will have to give in, again, and consider doing CRM in the cloud. Scared to death of the cloud and it's security. Seems like I feel that everyone can see my data. Must be OCD....Depending on your usage, maybe overkill.

Can you elaborate on exactly how you go about this and for what purpose do you do so??? VM = Virtual Machine???... I am running my HDA on a VM, with 3 x 1TB drives. Works fine for me.
