However do you think I may be having this problem? I'm an Ubuntu man myself and I'm struggling with Fedora, and I'm not sure if the fix talked about in that thread would have made it into the release in the Express CD install you guys have.

Could be....that's a hardware issue isn't it...maybe CMOS battery is bad. Is your router still the DHCP and DNS server?

Yeah, looks like the battery is dead or faulty...

I corrected the time manually and yum is running now, going through quite a lot of stuff.

Do you think that will fix my errors or should I reinstall for scratch?

And no, the router is never was my DNS (I just pointed everything at OpenDNS), and it's no longer my DHCP, but switching it back on would be no issue.

Yea reinstall might be better. I would turn on the router dhcp until you have Amahi. Then, once Amahi is running it disable and let Amahi be the dhcp server.

true. i wonder what caused the failure to retrieve the repos?!?

some dependencies must be missing because of that.

good suggestions there. another one is to run the network troubleshooter.

The problems all seem to be down the time being out, I am about to start the reinstall so I will know for certain shortly, but it does seem that yum is doing some sort of sanity check based on the time, but then providing an unhelpful error.

The only reason I noticed myself was because of wget saying the the amahi.org SSL Cert "is not yet valid" which seemed an odd warning, which prompted me to check the machines time, and in turn to raise a feature request for integration of NTP into Amahi.

Hello,

I hope the install has went better this time. Any update?

As for the NTP as a feature request, that is not really necessary. It should be done at the time of install for Fedora. This is part of the install instructions as noted here http://www.amahi.org/instructions/configure_fedora.

All is good with the install :) adding applications seems to work although I'll need to add a couple more before I swear to that, but all the issue I had before have gone.

I updated the ticket I raised, but the ExpressCD install doesn't do the time and date thing, I just had to fix it myself... OR :( my install is still broken. I personally hope its the former, not the later.

Awesome. Good point, forgot you did the Express CD. We need to make it enforced on that image if possible.

Sorry this has been so painful, but it's difficult to cover all scenarios with an install. Hope you continue to have good luck.
