SSD upgrade

Postby modem7 » Wed Jan 09, 2019 2:34 pm

Hey guys,

I was going to comment on viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7226 but I didn't want to hijack the post.

I've just gone from a 128gb SSD to a 240gb SSD, and require to change the size of the root partition from 50gb to max free space.

I've attempted gparted live cd, but whilst it allowed me to choose the option to resize, I couldn't actually make any changes.

I tried growpart, but getting the following:
sudo growpart -N /dev/sda 3
NOCHANGE: partition 3 is size 104857600. it cannot be grown
I'm a bit stuck!

Amahi 10, fedora.

Thanks for any help!

The root file system is xfs type.

Check out increase/expand xfs filesystem article. Although it applies to CentOS, it should work for Fedora as well.
