SOLVED: Wake-On-LAN Server

Postby gd515 » Tue May 30, 2017 3:15 pm

I installed the Wake-On-LAN Server app and every time I try to wake up a device or put a device to sleep it tells me that the passphrase is wrong. How do I get to the WOL configuration file to set a passphrase or to see what the current passphrase is? I have tried the passphrase wakemeup and it still denied it.

Thanks

Check /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log for errors.

Also please provide URL for:

Code: Select all

apaste --sysinfo
BTW the app has admin credentials. Expand the app in the dashboard, Installed in Applications tab.

Also recommend you check out the wiki guidance as noted in the app.

Here is the URL for apaste --sysinfo https://da.gd/zCRiX

I am logged into the app with admin credentials.

I did check the wiki on the app and it tells me that the passphrase is wakemeup and when i try that it comes back as Invalid Passphrase. Request Denied. The wiki says I can change the passphrase by editing the wol.php which im not sure where that is located at ?

The only thing that shows in the /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log is that Wake-On-Lan server has been installed .... no errors.

Thanks

That's the wrong file. It must be changed in the config.php file, located in /var/hda/web-apps/wol-server/html directory. The wiki have been changed to reflect the correct file.

I have updated the app to use the passphrase and also added it to the Special Instructions for the app. You will see it there.

Recommend you uninstall, then reinstall to get the latest.

BTW, #Amahi 9 on Fedora 23 is no longer supported. Apps will not longer be updated. A special one-time exception was made for this app, but you might want to consider upgrading to #Amahi 10 on Fedora 25.

Please let us know if it worked. Will mark this as solved once confirmed.

Bigfoot65 you can go ahead and mark this as solved , I got the computer to go to sleep but I cant get it to wake back up yet . Thanks for updating that application for me.

If I do decide to upgrade to the newest version of Amahi 10 I know its better to start from scratch but how far apart will it be before another
version of Amahi is released? It takes time to get the server where you want it and I don't want to keep having to upgrade it every few months???

Thank you for your help and assistance, it really is appreciated.

Ok no problem.

Will be several months before there is a new version released.

Fedora 26 is still in beta.

Marking as solved.
