I would like to install Amahi on an older PC. I read a few tutorials online that suggest that (for home use) Amahi would be suitable. However these articles a a year or two old, I now see that Amahi requires a 64 bit processor. I'm not sure if this older PC is 64 bit or not.
I thought about downloading an older version however the warnings were everywhere that it is unsupported. And if I want an older 32 bit version it's not even available.
So what is my best bet to set up a NAS on an older PC?
older PC support?
Re: older PC support?
Your best option would be to finds a distro like Ubuntu that offers 32-bit. There are many tutorials on the internet that will instruct how to build a NAS server from scratch.
OpenMediaVault or FreeNAS might work for you if they still offer 32-bit versions.
Unfortunately Amahi is only for 64-bit machines. All older versions that allowed 32-bit are no longer supported.
