I recently upgraded to Amahi 8 using a clean install. I have installed a few apps successfully (OwnCloud8 + OpenVPN). I have been trying to install CrashPlan using the Apps --> Available page. Each time I try to install CrashPlan, it gives me a message saying that the app has installed successfully. However, when I try to follow the "Installation and Configuation" instructions on the wiki page, I can not find the /var/lib/crashplan folder (that folder does not exist). This is the information from the amahi-app-installer.log:

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting, and re-installing. Each time I seem to get similar errors in the installer log.
Any suggestions on how to install CrashPlan would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
I installed Crashplan last week on Amahi 8, and it is operating OK. The installation can be found in /usr/local/crashplan, and there is /conf/ directory containing the config files.
I am using the Crashplan GUI for the configuration, which I am accessing via X11 forwarding with PuTTY on my PC. This makes the configuration process much easier.
There are some issues with Crashplan. The priority is to sort out your inode watches, as the default setting will result in Crashplan killing your HDA. There are some details about this in thisforum post, and you need to make sure that the increase is permanent as otherwise your system will revert to the default if it reboots, and will start to fail in strange ways.
Update:
In your case, it is clear that Crashplan did not install because file hashes do not match:
The SHA hash I got from the installer download (/var/hda/apps/sp2uf8jdkx/CrashPlan_4.5.0_Linux.tgz) was e39fa3e516edfd8ec3d356b173b120ccf409666a
Run the following command, if the file exists, and see what the SHA1 checksum is:
If it is not the *9666a code I got, then either your download file is being corrupted, or there is a new version and the file hash has not been updated.
I can only suggest that you try the install again.

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
This would be good information to add to the wiki.
Could you update the Crashplan guidance?
We would greatly appreciate it. User contributions in the wiki is what keeps it updated.

I will have a look at it and see what I can add.Could you update the Crashplan guidance?
In relation to the installation failure, it looks like the install script continues after the SHA1 hash check has failed, resulting in other error messages because earlier stages of the install have not completed. It could do with ending on the initial error. I don't know whether the initial parts of the install script are common to all apps?
Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
The issues are most likely related to the Amahi server that went down this weekend.
We are still recovering from it and the app file for this is likely on that server.
Until it's fixed, the app will not install correctly.
Also Crashplan is in BETA For Amahi 8, therefore may not work correctly. It ist still being tested.

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
I did not have any problems with my install of Crashplan, but that was a few hours before the server went down.
Zoneminder, however, does not work under Amahi 8 because the version installing from the Amahi sources is not compatible with Fedora 21/ffmpeg. After much messing around, which included installing the most recent version of Zoneminder from an rpm from the ZM website, and manual changes to the database , it technically works, but I cannot see video!

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
Yes you were fortunate enough to miss the outage.
As for Zoneminder, that's why we have not moved it LIVE. It's a finicky app and hard to get working.
Need to find another app that will provide the same features and be more stable.

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
I am also having troubles installing crashplan. Last week I upgraded mij second hda to amahi 8 and I installed crashplan without problems. Today I tried to do the same with my primary hda. Both times I first uninstalled all apps before upgrading. The upgrade succeeded but the crashplan install seems to have failed. The first attempt there was a problem with the hash but the second time it failed again. Can anybody help please?

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
Not sure if you noticed, but the Crashplan App is in BETA. It's not working as designed for some users and we don't recommend installing it.
You can check out bug 1877 might offer some help.

Re: Trouble installing CrashPlan
I knew it was still beta, thats why I tried my secondary hda first and everything worked. Unfortunately it does not install properly on my primary hda.
