SOLVED: Issues with phpmyadmin

Postby zew » Sun Jul 19, 2015 11:31 am

Hey,

Super newbie here. Trying to get an old-pc-turned-amahi-server up and running, and doing OK for the most part, but I've hit a wall at getting phpmyadmin to work. I tried the one click app install, and got the message:

This app failed to install :-( We REALLY HATE that.This could be due to a bug, slow failed network, app bug or other changes to the system.
Please share the logs (in Linux, via terminal or SSH) using "apaste" as follows:tail -600 /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log | apaste
If you feel this is a bug we at the Amahi Team would like to hear from you via the forums the bug tracker or the IRC support channel.

I then decided to get adventurous and try a manual install, which sort of worked - at least it looks like phpmyadmin is installed, but I can't seem to access it. I think I've got the permissions sorted in the .conf file, but I can't seem to get it to show up at hda/phpmyadmin (Page not found). I tried creating a symbolic link in /var/www/html/ to its install (/usr/share/phpMyAdmin), but that didn't work.

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend you stick with the Amahi version.

It would be best to figure out why it failed to install then to move on to a different method.

Check /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log file for the error.

Thanks for the reply - sticking with the 1 click installs definitely sounds like a better idea to me.

The relevant bits from the log appears to be:

ENV=production

Ok that tells me there was a problem with the download.

Recommend you clear browser cache and close it. Then try again.

Sigh. It's always the easy things that I never think to try... That seemed to do the trick, thanks so much!
