USB stick install
USB stick install
Hi--is there a method for installing Amahi from a USB Stick? I was able to install the ISO to a USB stick, but keep getting errors during the install to my PC. I guess I'm comparing it to OMV or FreeBSD where you can install from a USB stick to a USB stick on your PC. Please point me in the right direction. Thank you.
Re: USB stick install
The method you are trying with the Express CD will not work.
The USB install is not supported, however there is guidance in the wiki.

Re: USB stick install
I recognize that this hasn't been successful for everyone. But I have been able to make multiple bootable usb install drives. See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5307
Re: USB stick install
I have only heard of you and one other who had success. That makes it an unreliable method in my opinion.

Re: USB stick install
I had created a bootable USB stick with Amahi 7.1
you need to edit the path inst.stage2=hd:LABEL=Amahi\x207.1\x20x86_64
change it to the mounted USB drive depending on what setup you have. Example that worked
inst.stage2=hd:SDC
Problem is that once you are in the installation screens there is a bug that causes it to crash.
SO your best bet is to install via the DVD method for the moment.

Or use this guidance in the wiki:

Tested many times with no failures.
