Re: Local DNS server not working properly
I have this issue as well.
This issue also persists after an fresh reinstall of Amahi/Ubuntu. It appears to an issue with the repo.
This is the information that I pulled the server post install, and the installation error that I believe is related.
Installation Logs:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1430261/
Errors during Install:
cdcrawford@SilkSpectre:~$ sudo hda-install -f K8RP6YC
[sudo] password for cdcrawford:
Verbose log file at '/root/hda-install-121213-145421.log'.

Initializing Storage Pooling ...

from /usr/bin/hda-install:1421:in `main'
from /usr/bin/hda-install:1424
In my experience, the issue occurred on the evening of the 12th, or the morning of the 13th. I first noticed that I was not able to access any of the applications/web apps that I have installed on the server. They failed, citing a DNS lookup issue.
If you need any information, please let me know.

Re: Local DNS server not working properly
+1 to the list of people. I'm glad to have found this thread, I've been slaving away all morning trying to get it to work.
Re: Local DNS server not working properly
having the same issue as of a few days ago. did the network troubleshooter (see below).
what's seems off is the router ip, which when using traceroute seems to resolve to (67.215.65.132), rather than my gateway ip (192.168.1.1).
anyway, any help is appreciated.
thank you.
Step 1: Your HDA IP address is 192.168.1.10
Step 2: Your HDA domain name is home.com
Step 3: Your router IP address is 192.168.1.1
Step 4: Your HDA DNS server is working fine for local hostnames.
Step 5: Your router is NOT accessible from your HDA server.

Re: Local DNS server not working properly
Anything that was build, like this morning, works.
Anything new that I add, doesn't work. Any ideas?
Edit: Restarted my HDA services. All good now!
Thanks for pushing the fix quickly!
