Amahi mounting the shares locally

Postby buldogg » Sat Jul 28, 2012 4:13 pm

I have looked everywhere on my issue and read the troubleshooting guide Im sorry if im just missing it.

I am trying to mount my shares locally so I can copy over some file from another drive. For the life of me I wont work I make sure I have the command correct and the targets correct in the command but everytime I run the "service mount_shares_locally start" I've also tried it with sudo, I get "env: /etc/init.d/mount_shares_locally: No such file or directory"

Its driving me nuts I dont know why its not working. This is a fresh install I have 2 drives in my greyhole pool, and Im trying to get this files off this drive and add this one to the pool.

Please help I've looked everywhere

I'm stuck here as well, with the same problem.

I hope this gets resolved soon.

The mount_shares_locally script has to be downloaded and installed as per the wiki guidance.

"The mount_shares_locally script has to be downloaded and installed as per the wiki guidance. http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Mount_Shares_Locally"

............ Which I have tried, ......repeatedly.

The script file is clearly in the init.d directory, but it is not being detected.

Permissions issue ?

Could be. Make sure it is chmod 755 or it will not work.

Change Permissions?
yep. tried it.

I cd'd into /etc/init.d
typed dir
"mount_shares_locally" is there.

I typed chmod 755 mount_shares_locally
ok
Then typed "service mount_shares_locally start"

I then get "env: /etc/init.d/mount_shares_locally: No such file or directory"

Am I missing something ?

Check the ownership as well. It needs to be owned by root:root I believe. Also are you preceding the commands with sudo?

Thanks to CPG on irc for this he had to help me for about 2 hours yesterday.

The file that we were downloading from the wiki mount_shares_locally was somehow uploaded in DOS mode CPG I think might have fixed the download so it should work now. If not there are a bunch of ^M in the file that needs to be cleaned up.
