hi everybody,
here are some experiences with my new amahi-ubuntu-hda :
installation was really easy and worked out of-the-box if you can use wired internetconnection instead of wireless. i remember that the installation of the fedora-14-hda was more complicated.
this is 2 weeks ago, and nearly everythings works fine. i installed every live-app and every live-theme. only dlna (beta) and ps3mediaserver (alpha) installation sucks. some other users have written some posts about this issue. even crashplan works for me. i installed plexmediaserver over ubuntu-softwarecenter, but performance is poor.
here are some little "issues" i found:
- the default-theme has enough place at the dashbord-site to show all installed apps without scrolling the screen to the bottom of the page. but there are only 2 columns instead of 5 or 6.
- all partitions are shown correct ,
but no drive is listed
Next i will try to install some apps that worked fine on amahi-fedora-14:
owncloud
vtiger
frontaccounting
weberp
collabtive
fengoffice
simple invoices
group-office
tonido
some more experiences will follow ...

Re: My experience with Amahi on ubuntu ...
Great news. Keep in mind any app you install that is not LIVE may not work. We are still working BETA apps and hope to move more LIVE once we iron out the platform bugs.

Re: My experience with Amahi on ubuntu ...
if i use "hda-create-db-and-user APPNAME" , this doesn´t create a directory like "APPNAME/html" and "APPNAME/logs" .
Re: My experience with Amahi on ubuntu ...
No, it only created the database and user for it. If you want to create a web app, you must have "Advanced Settings" enabled in the "Settings Tab". Then when you go to the apps tab in the Dashboard, you will see a link for Web Apps. Select this and create one which will in turn create the directory you seek.

There is some guidance in the wiki about creating web apps that might help.
