HSMM-MESH AD-HOC Network

Postby KC7NEC » Mon Apr 16, 2012 11:14 am

Our organization is running a multi-router ad-hoc mesh network. It is run off of linksys wrt54g routers running a modified firmware. The firmware sets the routers up to 172.27.0.1 and provides DCHP for clients connected to the network. The problem for Amahi is that the firmware also uses OLSR to authenticate any direct connections. This has made it that I can NOT use 172.27.0.1 as the gateway for the Amahi Server as it just locks out the network, including internet.

I am looking for any ideas or thoughts on solutions. My first thought is to ise another router that is 198.168.1.* or equivalent, and then see if I can port forward that once connected to the other router WAN.

Any idea if this will work? any other solutions? any questions that could help get this working?

Since OLSR is a routing protocol, how does it (or how is it expected to) suthenticate the server?
