Amanhi Sync

Postby ciscoh » Sun Mar 25, 2012 6:27 am

I would like to stop paying dropbox and expand my current Amahi membership. In order to do that, i need an easy way for my wife to get he files that are on Dropbox.

Anyone know of a client currently or in the works for Windows machines to sync selected folders in Amahi sync?

At the moment, only the Public folder works. There is a plan one day to expand that to other folders, but not in the immediate future.

Why don't you use a Windows Backup program to copy folders/files to the HDA Public folder then Amahi Sync will pick them up? There are many 3rd party apps that are free that can be scheduled to run daily or even hourly. One such app that I use is Cobian Backup.

I believe there is also a dropbox app that whatever you drop on it moves automatically to any folder you specify in your network.

Just a few ideas that might help.

The problem is outside my home network.

My wife is a teacher. She has dropbox installed on her PC at work. It syncs with her files at home. I am looking for that sort of synchronization.

The problem is the PC at her school. Not sure how i get her files there.

Telling her she has to go to a weblink to get the files (i.e. Amahi Sync) will be met with......resistance...

Understand. I misunderstood your question. We are not planning on a Dropbox like client at the moment. It does not mean will won't ever have one, but I think that is way down the road.

We have so many things going on and with such a small team, it's hard to get it all done. Maybe there will be a user who can come up with one and help us get there sooner.

Yes you are correct and we do realize the potential. Just not sure when we will get there. Thanks for the feedback.
