Tapatalk Integration

Postby snakey147 » Tue Oct 04, 2011 7:52 am

Hi

I was wondering if there is any chance of getting Tapatalk integration enabled for these forums? It was mentioned in an old post here.

Would be great to have access to the forums from my mobile, since I've got access to the HDA from it!

If you need me to send an email as per the old post above, then I will do so!

thanks

Yes, please do send an email to support with the details. We will take it into consideration. Due to our current workload, it may be a while.

Hi all, thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, we looked at this in the past. It's hard for a few reasons:
  • They (Tapatalk) have a spotty security record - this in itself is a concern for me
  • Giving them access to our user database (as well as the forum
data) is a bit frightening. We care deeply about privacy and trust
  • The www and the forums site have a single-logon feature, to make
it more spam-proof and easier on people to not have to remember two
separate logins (same with the bug tracker). this makes it quite hard
to integrate their solution, because our authentication scheme is not
the standard phpbb one, it's custom.
If we could find an alternative solution, like a mobile skin that
utilizes native browsing, I think we should would jump into that, even if it costs a
little money.

Do you guys think you could help locate such a skin?

Thanks!
