Files missing from samba shares

Hi All,
I recently had one of my hard drives in my pool fail, and it has been replaced with two more drives. But now the files that were moved to the new drives aren't in my shares. Any help is appreciated

A short summary: I lost one drive (drive3), added two new drives (drive5, drive6), ran a --fsck after everything was installed, then balanced. This resulted in many files being moved to the new drives. Now it seems as if those files that were moved are not available from my local mount_shares_locally or remotely. However, everything appears correctly in the landing directories. Anything on the old drives does appear correctly.

For example, this file is available:

- Rebooting
- Checking permissions / ownership (ran chown on all drives / files)
- Sopping / restarting samba
- Stopping / restarting mount_shares_locally
- Ran --fsck -find_orphaned_files

So, here is an update:

I decided to get rough with the server and manually re-copy the file into the mount share. When I tried it, I get this error even though the destination directory does not appear to have my file.

It looks like some kind of null file stub that may be causing my problems. Anyone have any clue how to get rid of it. It isn't listed via ls in the terminal.

If I attempt to replace it I get this error:
Error opening file '/mnt/samba/TV/The League/Season 02/The League s02e01 Vegas Draft.mkv': Permission denied

Now I am suspecting it has mostly to do with my hard drive configuration.
Any symlinks in my landing pad pointing to either of my two new drives (drive5, drive6) fail to appear in my samba share. If the file appears on a valid drive (drive2, drive4), I can create a link to that file and replace the "broken" link with it and it immediately appears in my local /mnt/samba/ share. I have no idea what might cause this kind of problem.

Finally found the problem. It was a permissions issue all along, as all my problems with Amahi seem to have been.

The issue was that Amahi, when it mounts the drives, does not set permissions for users, only root.

Thus, my /var/hda/files/drives/drive6 permissions were drwx------. Which caused failure all the way down to individual files even though those files had the correct permissions set. Perhaps there is a bug in Amahi when it sets up the mounts for those drives?

If you mount as root you end up as described.

You need to loxin with putty and mount with the parameters you need.

As you see the quick guid to this command is pages long = powerfull and complicated command.

If you want more flex GUI use Webmin. Create the mount and go to File Manager and set parameters.
