Disabled DHCP in Amahi - how to access applications

Postby spline » Wed Jan 05, 2011 5:03 am

Hi all,

i have (currently) disabled the DHCP server in Amahi.

I can access the HDA using the IP 192.168.1.10
My domain is home.com (default i think)

Now i have installed the app Gallery2.

As i understood, if DHCP is on, i cann access it by pointing my browser to "gallery2".
This doesn's work for me. Firefox adds a "home.com" to the name i typed in and redirected me to gallery2.home.com (an existing page).

How can i access my gallery?

Thanks and best regards

If you are running your own DNS server, add a slave zone for home.com from 192.168.1.10

You MIGHT be able to add to your local hosts file the entry:

192.168.1.10 hda.home.com gallery2.home.com

This will only work if hosts is checked before DNS servers.

Find a non-existing domain, like home.foo.

edit on your server /etc/http/conf.d/nnn-gallery.conf and add an alias for gallery2.home.foo

service httpd reload

Add to your hosts file:

192.168.1.10 gallery2.home.foo

Good luck. This is the 'challenge' with URLs and no DNS control...
