Here's my setup as it is now..
3 physical drives.
sata port 1 = dvdrom
sata port 2 = 1tb drive
sata port 3 = 320gb drive
sata port 4 = 1tb drive
when I boot this machine I always need to select the 320gb drive from the bios boot selector since bios changes don't seem to save when I modify them.
That 320GB drive is my OS drive, which is 60gb for [Fedora12/amahi partition] + [remainder partition for storage, which is part of the greyhole pool]
the other 2 terabyte drive are also greyhole pooled storage.
Here's what I want to do....
I got my hands on a 74gb WD raptor 10000RPM sata drive.
I'd like to install it and transfer the [Fedora12/amahi partition] from the old 320gb drive to the WD Raptor drive and make it a sole OS drive.
Then I want to expand the 320gb drive's remaining partition to the entire drive and keep it as greyhole pooled storage.
QUESTIONS:
-If I can do this from a live-USB of xubuntu to use GParted to copy the partitions, will the OS and all of amahi and greyhole see everything just fine and work OK?
-If I change the physical ports that all the drives use, will that mess up fedora12 and amahi and greyhole?
-what's the ideal way to do this?
drive swap & F12 / amahi handling it..
