USB stops working on install (Fedora 12)

The USB keyboard and mouse go dead once I get to the screen asking for which language. The keyboard works at the first screen when asked to choose new install or upgrade etc. I had Fedora 10 on this box before tonight and it was working great.

any idea?

I tried to download and burn the DVD again with same result.

HP DC7800 and an HP DC7900 both lose USB on install.

try by unplugging and plugging it back in to see if it recognizes it?

turn on (or off) usb legacy on the BIOS?

so yeah PS2 devices work so I got fedora installed. Stupid HPs have so many USB issues.

Now I get the localhost not found, going to try a reinstall of the whole thing.

did you use the DVD install method??

can you share the content of /tmp/amahi-ruby-install.log file?

i wonder why these occasional failures.

check the installation troubleshooting page in the wiki.

uh yeah it's pretty frustrating, F10/Amahi 4 was so easy to install. I would like you to know I really do appreciate all the work the Amahi team put into this.

Yes and even ran the media check.

I am not at home right now but I can tell you it was the same as http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=891 but I am not using a proxy. I was able to manually install Sinatra, this allowed me to launch the installer (but only that one time, if I click it now it says "can't connect to localhost:2000" I know I don't need to do that but was curios to see if it would work after a reboot.)

I am now wondering if I have an incomplete install, for example AmahiTunes seems to be missing and openVPN fails to start at boot.

I would be happy to post my logs tonight.

Did you install F12 from a live disk instead of the full program? I made that error first time around and had similar issues as you  . Cheers, Rene.
