Fedora 12 won't install on my pc.

It hangs at waiting for hardware to initialize.
So reading the Fedora forums, they recommend the noprobe option, now this gets past the hang but it cant find any hard drives to install on,
I've been going around and around for the past eight hours (the wife is sooo impressed!)
I've tried IDE hard drives, SATA hard drives, IDE hard drives on a PCI Raid card, SATA drives raided on the motherboard (my preference was to use two 160GB drives in RAID1)
but I get nothing.
Reinstalling Fed 10 now to put Amahi 4 back on (oh why did I wipe my system why why)

Any thoughts or ideas?
Is it possible to upgrade this to Fed 12 after install and Amahi 5?

Please say it's possible, it'll be a Christmas miracle :D

FYI It's an Abit F-I90HD motherboard using the onboard graphics (as I intend to run it headless)

Thanks for your time.
J

The initial setup still goes through the same operations, so I would say, you're out of luck.

You could try "acpi=0" at boot, but don't get your hopes up.

Hi Mickerick, thanks for your reply.

I've tried now with a single hard drive (so no Raid1 mirroring for me) and finally got it installed using the noprobe option!

Stuck on 800x600 but that's no biggie as I don't need to see the desktop.

Now how to get vncserver and sabnzbd to run at startup.

Thanks again. :D
